Description
This is the story of Wojtek told in cloth: the bear who was enlisted as a soldier of the Polish II Corps, carried shells at Monte Cassino and lived out his years in Edinburgh. The mark at the centre is his, a bear head stripped back to its simplest shape.
Three things shape the collection:
- clean, modern form
- lettering drawn from Polish type of the nineteen thirties
- the discipline of a military layout
Nothing here is decoration for its own sake. The symbols stand for courage, brotherhood and endurance, and every piece in the Corporal Wojtek series carries a fragment of that history.
